In Loving Memory

With all the wedding plans, I can't help but think about how much I miss my Mammaw, Pat Ponder!

She passed away just as Josh and I met and began dating, so she never had the opportunity to meet him and he never got to meet her, but I know for a fact, they would've loved each other! She had such an outspoken, charismatic, and loving personality! Oh, how she loved her grandchildren! She would do the sweetest things to prove how much she cared, especially once I was away at college! She would send me sweet cards, and just before she passed, she sent me a big package of homemade fudge...so yummy! Another thing she did on a regular basis was cut out "Love is" strips from the newspaper because she knew I liked to collect them! I would often check my mail at college and have an envelope full of them!

Although, she's not in my day to day life anymore, she's forever in my heart! I have such great memories of helping her bake, playing card games, and laughing as she sang "Skidda Marinke Dink E Dink, Skidda Marinke Doo...I Love You"! She also played the game, "Head Knocker, Eye Blinker, Nose Smeller, Mouth Eater, Chin Chopper, Gully Gully Gully" and now I play it with Tanner...it's my way of giving Tanner a little piece of her spirit as well! What a blessing she was and what an even bigger blessing it was to call her my Mammaw!

As I held her fragile, lifeless hand, and kissed her cheek one last time, I told her how proud I was of her and I meant those words then, just as I do now! She will forever be missed! I know she will be shining down on us on our wedding day with a big ol' grin on her face!

Remembering my Mammaw,
Hope (Future Mrs. Saenz)
